Child, Adolescent and Family

Children and adolescents still face issues that are hard to deal with at any age, such as depression, anxiety, feelings of self-worth, and more. Mental Health issues don’t have an age limit. Struggles can start early but, when they do, Central Wyoming Counseling Center is there.

CWCC offers a variety of services for children, adolescents and families. We provide culturally competent individual, family, and group therapy within our facility, as well as in the home, at school, and in the community.

Early Intervention Services are for children under the age of 5 and their families to address behavior challenges. These services can be provided in the home or community.

Our licensed and dedicated therapists serve as a resource for families and additional providers to address behavioral struggles and conduct community observation. Our therapists will connect families with resources based on individual needs.

Wrap-Around Services are intensive therapeutic services offered to children and adolescents who are at risk for out-of-home placement and meet the criteria for Serious Emotional Disorder (SED). That criteria could include:

  • Significant risk for out of school, home, or community placement
  • Suicidal or homicidal thoughts
  • Severe anger, truancy, or examples of theft
  • Exposure to traumatic events
  • Displaying aggressive or oppositional behavior
  • And more

Our Wrap-Around Services provide intensive family therapy and care management that is strengths-based, culturally competent, and community-based. With these services, the child/adolescent and his or her family work together with a licensed therapist and care manager on an individualized family plan designed to promote self-sufficiency in safe, positive, and long-lasting ways.

Central Wyoming Counseling Center contracts with School Districts to work with children and adolescents in grades K-12 who are struggling with behavioral issues that may pose unique challenges both in the classroom and at home. We provide therapists to each school in the district, assuring a safe space for children and adolescents to meet with a qualified, caring clinician. Currently, we are providing school-based therapies in Natrona, Uinta as well as Park and Big Horn Counties.

At Central Wyoming Counseling Center, our Community-Based Services are built around children who are at risk of displaying behavioral health challenges and would benefit from individual and family therapy. Care management, as needed, provides connections to resources that inform and guide at-home management.

Our Community-Based Services are provided in home, school, and in the community.

Our substance abuse residential treatment facility provides Addiction Treatment to adolescents of all ages.

Depending on the clients’ needs, we utilize various evaluation metrics, such as:

  • Initial intake assessment
  • American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM)
  • Bio-psychosocial assessment
  • Withdrawal assessment
  • Comprehensive Health Assessment for Teens (CHAT)
  • And more

We offer treatment and support services via a secure virtual environment. Our Telehealth counseling option allows clients to receive or continue group-based and individual treatment without the need for an in-person visit. For more information, please call 307-237-9583, and ask about Telehealth options.
